Roughnecks GK Coach Joins TSC Hurricane Staff
Please join us in welcoming Ryan Ego to our staff as GK Academy Director. Ryan is currently the Roughnecks GK coach and will be working with 
Daniel Cherbonnier on redesigning our GK training program. This also provides an opportunity to further integrate player development philosophies between the Roughnecks and TSCH Coaching staffs.
We are excited about Ryan joining our family as he will bring some new methods, energy and innovative ideas to our GK training program. The combination of Ryan and Daniel will yet again provide another differentiator of coaching for our players.
More details of the 2016-17 GK program will be announced later but some points about the new program:
Model of Four Pillars (Technical/Tactical/Psychological/Physical) as an evaluation/progression format.
Training model will focus on these aspects of Goalkeeping topics:
Distribution,
Stance/set position/footwork,
Catching/handling,
Diving,
Crosses/high balls,
1v1/breakaways
Program also envisions a "topic of the week" that all four sessions will train on the same topic. Plan is to build the GKs tactical abilities from these topics and will focus on the physical, mental, and tactical aspects of Goalkeeping no matter what the topic of the week is.
*Also plan to get the older GKs involved in a coaching/mentor role.
