Technical Testing (Juniors Ages 6-10)
Like any developmental endeavor, part of affecting improvement is measuring, motivating and recognizing effort and progress...and it's not found simply in goals scored or wins and losses.
As part of TSC Hurricane's Juniors Program, your player and team will go through some basic skill tests which we have "borrowed" from well-known academies and programs. These are not selection or identification tools - but they do provide benchmarks that players and coaches can use to make a path towards improvement.
While we will recognize top performers and biggest gainers routinely - the number one target is for all players to first commit to topping their OWN performances - certainly with goals if they'd like to finish as high in their team or the club as they want to dream.
Here's a preview.
Technical Testing and Benchmark Assessments (Competitive Ages 11 and up)
TSC Hurricane Directors, following US Soccer's Technical Standards, have identified the need to establish technical testing and benchmarking. The following protocols can be used as tests, homework and training exercises.
The technical tests were designed with U11 to U18 players in mind. They are geared towards motivating players to spend time on their own to improve their ball control, short range passing, speed and agility with the ball, and the use of their instep for driving balls and shooting. A player that can control the ball is a player that helps control the tempo of the game and contributes to the team’s tactical abilities.
The primary vision of TSC Hurricane's development program and Elite Training Center (ETC) is, “to deliver more technically skilled and tactically sophisticated players in preparation for ECNL and National League play so that we produce talent capable of competing at the collegiate, professional and even National levels.” We hope you find these technical tests fun, challenging and rewarding. We hope they will inspire players to spend more time with the ball through this cultural and behavioral revolution.
