Ryan Ego is currently the Goalkeeper Coach for the Tulsa Roughnecks Football Club. Tulsa's professional Football Club that participates in the United Soccer League (USL). Ryan joining TSCH, in addition to his Roughnecks FC responsibilities, provides an opportunity to further integrate player devel
opment philosophies between the Roughnecks and TSCH Coaching staffs. As the Director of Goalkeeping for TSCH, this summer Ryan will be hosting a weekly Goalkeeper Academy along with a summer camp exclusively for TSCH Goalkeepers.
Ryan was born and raised near Buffalo, New York in a suburb named North Tonawanda. He spent his first collegiate season on scholarship at Barton College in North Carolina, before transferring to powerhouse Virginia Wesleyan College. Ryan helped VWC make three trips to the NCAA tournament and win one conference championship. During his time there, the club was ranked in the Top 25 three times, earning a ranking as high as #2 nationally his second year. Ryan graduated from VWC with a Business/Management Degree.
After college, Ryan spent time with the Tahuichi Football Academy in Santa Cruz, Boliva. Following his time in South America, Ryan became a player/manager for FC Paradiso in Ticino, Switzerland, a position he held for three years. Working daily in English, Italian, and German Ryan guided FC Paradiso to the 'Swiss Fair Play Award' during his second season. (An award given to the team with the best disciplinary record in the entire country.)
Along with being the Goalkeeper Coach for the Tulsa Roughnecks Ryan is also the Goalkeeping Director for Professional Soccer Consultants Ltd. UK. PSC Ltd UK is an international professional soccer consultancy. Through PSC's academies and combine events aspiring players can be exposed to professional and college teams from around the world in Europe, Asia and North America.
The last two summers Ryan has been working with PSC's residential academy in Sweden, coaching with UEFA Pro licensed coaches as well as staff from the Swedish National Team.
Ryan has over 20 years of combined soccer experience as a player, coach, and manager. Specializing in Goalkeeper coaching, Ryan has spent time on staff with Tony DiCicco's Soccer Plus Soccer school, made guest appearances at the Orlando City Soccer Club Goalkeeper School, and has worked with the US Women's National Team Youth Goalkeepers.
In addition, Ryan holds coaching licenses from the USSF (C), NSCAA (National/Goalkeeper) and the Swiss Football Association.
Outside of soccer, Ryan previously worked as a professional firefighter. After working in Florida from 2005-2009, Ryan traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan to be a combat firefighter during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF.) He is a certified Fire Captain with the US Department of Defense and also has an active Emergency Medical Technician license.
